We treat the whole range of urological disease: cancer of the prostate, kidney and bladder, kidney stones, benign prostatic enlargement, urinary incontinence and functional disorders, and kidney transplantation. Whenever a disease can be treated without removing an organ, that is the option we look for first.

The department offers most of the recent therapeutic innovations in urology — organ-preserving surgery, focal treatment, minimally invasive and robotic techniques, laser treatment of stones. That is the direct benefit of clinical and translational research, which holds a central place in the way the department is organised: more than 550 papers indexed in PubMed, 380 of them published between 2015 and 2025.
